19/10/18 - LMC Cookery Demonstration
Year 12 GCSE Food and Nutrition pupils had the privilege of watching a cookery demonstration this morning in the Home Economics Department.

In addition to enjoying the sampling of these delicious dishes the pupils gained valuable knowledge regarding cuts of meat, cooking methods, hygiene regulations, safe handling of raw and cooked meat, temperature control, as well as the nutritional benefits of including red meat in the diet. All in all, it was a most interesting and comprehensive culinary experience!

Year 11 Geography students joined with Newry High School to embark on a joint fieldtrip to Titanic Quarters, Belfast. The focus of this trip was to view the regeneration of this old shipbuilding yard (Harland and Wolff) which is now recognised as a successful urban planning scheme, where 18,000 people are living, working or studying. This exciting new waterfront development has transformed the old industrial brownfield site, into an innovative hub for commerce, ICT and tourism.

08/10/18 - Year 8 Shared Education
Year 8 pupils enjoyed an adventurous day at Meigh Community Centre and Slieve Gullion Forest Park. The day started with Ice breaker activities when pupils had an opportunity to mix with pupils from our partner schools: Newry High School, St Paul’s High School and St Joseph’s High School. We then travelled on to Slieve Gullion where pupils worked in small groups to complete the selfie challenge.
Congratulations to group 11 on winning this challenge. All our pupils had the opportunity to get to know the names of a few pupils in our partner schools through our small group activities and as our program progresses throughout the year, pupils will have a chance to meet up again and continue to build friendships.
03/10/18 – Year 10 STEM Trip
