19/10/18 - LMC Cookery Demonstration
Year 12 GCSE Food and Nutrition pupils had the privilege of watching a cookery demonstration this morning in the Home Economics Department.
Mrs Margaret Anderson from the Livestock and Meat Commission made Lamb Tikka Masala and Beef Stir fry in plum sauce served with fire cracker rice.
In addition to enjoying the sampling of these delicious dishes the pupils gained valuable knowledge regarding cuts of meat, cooking methods, hygiene regulations, safe handling of raw and cooked meat, temperature control, as well as the nutritional benefits of including red meat in the diet. All in all, it was a most interesting and comprehensive culinary experience!
