Pupils representing the school at this year’s Armagh Show are Lydia Ewart, Mark Gibson and Madison McKnight.

We wish them every success in the School’s Cookery Competition!
25/05/18 - Newtown 6's Hockey Tournament
On Tuesday 15th May, some of the Year 8 and Year 9 girls had the opportunity to play in a tournament called The Newtown 6's. The schools that took part were City of Armagh High School, Drumglass High School, Newry High School and Newtownhamilton High School.
It was a very sucessful day for our Year 9's as the scores in their matches were 10-1 against Newry High School, 6-2 against City of Armagh High School and 6-1 against Drumglass High School. At the end of the tournament both of our teams from Newtownhamilton High School were crowned winners with each player receiving a medal.
A special mention goes to the Captains Elli-Mae Preston and Ellen McBride for getting top goal scorer in the tournament with Ellie-Mae scoring 9 goals and Ellen scoring 12 goals.
Well done to everyone who took part and a big thank you to Miss Anderson for organising the tournament.
21/05/18 - Balmoral Show 2018
77 Year 8-10 pupils and staff enjoyed a fantastic day at Balmoral Show last Friday. The weather conditions were superb and certainly added to the occasion. Thanks to the following staff members for providing supervision: Mr Megaw, Mrs Taylor, Mr Coils, Mrs Boyle, Mrs Johnston, Mrs McNiece and Mrs N Graham.
15/05/18 - Year 10 meet with local Councillor
Pupils in 10x and 10a had a chance to meet with David Taylor, a local councillor for the area. They discussed local and global issues including Democracy and Social Responsibilit. It was a good insight into politics for the pupils and we are very grateful to Councillor Taylor for taking time out to meet the pupils, even if they did give him some grief over the current state of the roads!
03/05/18 - OM Presentation Team Visit SU
Today at Scripture Union we had a team of four young people from Operation Mobilisation ‘Hope’ Ship. The team were certainly very international with two girls from Germany, an Irish lad from West Cork and one from the Carribean.
They spoke of their work on the ship and how OM seek to bring the message of gospel to the world. Our pupils had many interesting questions about life on the ship and their work. Maybe in the future some of our pupils would consider a gap year or two and travel with them!
03/05/18 - Artist of the Month goes to Chloe White
Currently Chloe is in Year 11 and is studying GCSE Art and Design.
She has tremendous natural ability at Art and her work continues to amaze her Art Teacher.
Here she has completed some studies on an Artist called Paul Jackson using pencil, charcoal and other mixed media. Chloe’s attention to detail is so good for GCSE level. Watch this space! I am sure her GCSE exhibition in 2019 will blow us all away.
