As part of the school CEIAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice & Guidance) programme all Year 10 pupils spent Friday morning participating in a Career Planning seminar that was run in partnership with the training organisation Sentinus. 27/01/11 - Open Night - A Work of Art!
Potential and current Newtownhamilton High School pupils were encouraged to paint a wall in graffiti style during Open Night. This proved very popular with the young people and was one of the many interesting activities on offer within the Art department.
Special mention must go to teacher Miss K Johnston for providing the inspiration to the artists.
27/01/11 - Successful Open Night at Newtownhamilton
Newtownhamilton High School opened their doors to the Primary 6 & 7 pupils and parents from the surrounding area last night (Wed 26 Jan). The evening started with a presentation in the assembly hall from Principal Mr G Mullan which was followed by two musical pieces from the school choir and also an impressive performance by a number of pupils playing the bagpipes and drums.
There was then an opportunity to tour the school and view the facilities and many displays on show. Finally refreshments were served in the school canteen while there was also an opportunity to sample some tasty treats that were prepared by pupils in the Home Economics room.
Potential parents requiring further information on any aspect of school life should contact the Principal to arrange an appointment. (2011/12 School Prospectus)
