16/01/19 – Happy Newtownhamilton Pupils Achieve Impressive GCSE Results
The annual publication of the Irish News GCSE League Tables has again proved favourable reading for everyone at Newtownhamilton High following an impressive 14th place finish (out of 133 non-selective schools) for pupils gaining 5 GCSE grades at A*-C, including the all-important GCSE English and GCSE Maths during 2017/18. The table also confirms a 4th place finish within the controlled schools’ sector behind Castlederg High, Aughnacloy College and Rathfriland High.
Principal Neil Megaw stated "I congratulate all pupils, parents and staff involved in the success of this latest set of GCSE statistics. However, Newtownhamilton High School is about much more than results and therefore I was delighted that ETI recently formally reported that our pupils are happy at school. I believe that a happy child will learn and these latest statistics prove that”.
